CENTUM VP Yokogawa Electric Corporation has released CENTUM VP R6.03, a new version of the company's integrated production control system. CENTUM VP provides an optimum operation, monitoring, and engineering environment for every phase of the plant lifecycle, from initial design, engineering, installation of systems and equipment, and start-up to full operation and the ongoing performance of renovations and modifi cations, through to eventual withdrawal of a facility from service. As well as providing an enhanced product for new customers, R6.03 off ers a smooth upgrade path to existing users of CENTUM systems. MultiCon CMC-N16 Instrumentation specialist Impress Sensors & Systems Ltd has extended its MultiCon range of multi-channel controllers/ data recorders with a new wall-mounted version that is ideal for the simultaneous measurement and control of a wide variety of process engineering applications. The new MultiCon CMC-N16 wall-mountable controller comprises up to 4 universal inputs with built-in totaliser, 4 digital inputs, 4 binary outputs and 4 analogue outputs. Its wall-mounted IP65 housing is made from durable plastic, allowing the unit to be installed in any location (including outdoors) where panel mounting is not possible. Yaskawa SLIO Compact Yaskawa has introduced a compact and extremely fast CPU smart control and I/O system which combines a PLC CPU, digital and analog input / output channels within a compact unit. The SLIO COMPACT CPU 013C is based on integrated SPEED 7 technology with 7100DEV processor ensuring outstanding performance and sets new standards for high clock rates and fast program processing. The SLIO Compact boasts powerful features despite its small size and is ideally suited to control applications with small to medium sized machinery. www.wwtonline.co.uk | WWT | JULY 2016 | 25 PRODUCT OF THE MONTH OTHER TOP PICKS FOR CONTROL Next month: Pumps THE DETAILS... Products Xylem Flygt Concertor ● intelligent pump control system ● for use with pumps of 2.2-7.3kW ● IE4 motor effi ciency ● integrated pump cleaning function ● reduced inventory of up to 80% Focus on…Communications and control What it is: Flygt Concertor, launched recently by Xylem, is an 'integrated intelligence' system for the control of wastewater pumps. The 'smart' system senses the operating conditions of its environment and adapts its performance in real time, optimising energy use. Who it's for: Suitable for use with wastewater pumps in the range of 2.2 to 7.3 kilowatts (kW), Flygt Concertor has a system design that combines IE4 motor effi ciency, N-hydraulics, integrated power electronics and intelligent controls. By working harder when necessary and easing back when possible, tests have suggested it can lead to energy savings of up to 70 per cent compared to a conventional pumping system. It also means less vulnerability to clogging, with a predicted 80 per cent reduction in cleaning costs. What they say: "Flygt Concertor represents a step-change in sustainable wastewater management solutions, with unparalleled pumping effi ciency and reliability as well as a lower overall cost of ownership," says Xylem's Tomas Brannemo. "It is a real problem-solver, developed in close collaboration with our customers around the world."
