TOP UTILITY JOBS The Company • Jersey Electricity Plc is a vertically integrated and horizontally diverse energy utility and is the sole provider of power, and other related services, to Jersey in the Channel Islands. Listed on the London Stock Exchange, revenues amount to some £100m per annum. • Reporting to the CEO, this is a key leadership role sitting at the centre of the business with both strategic and operational responsibilities. The Operations Director is custodian of risk and restoration, technical excellence, innovation and operational performance. Whilst shaping the strategy for tomorrow is central to the role, delivering on today's energy commitments to the community in a safe, sustainable and cost effective manner is paramount. • Focus will be on developing the operating architecture and delivering sustainable performance through a highly regarded team. This will include the design, installation, operation and maintenance of importation, distribution and generation systems (asset management) as well as scoping and delivering major capital projects, engineering, energy procurement and succession planning. The Candidate • Candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to work at the Executive level with a proven track record of leading and managing operations and maintenance of power transmission and distribution systems in a business supporting a multi-user community. Experience of network restoration using local generation, network design and installation will be balanced with knowledge of emerging "smart" technology, generation storage, new energy solutions including small and large scale renewables, tariffs and linkage to operations. • As a Chartered Electrical Engineer, technical excellence will need to be supported with a naturally strong commercial orientation and a level of pragmatism associated with a hands-on and accountable style of leadership. The role requires an excellent communicator and a proven relationship builder at all levels within the business and within the wider stakeholder community.
