Products Wilks InfraCal 2 ● New Generation Portable Infrared Analyser ● Touch screen display ● Internal data logging and optional internal battery pack ● Up to 4 wavelengths possible ● Alarm functions ● No scheduled maintenance or recalibration What it is: The InfraCal, made by Spectro Scientific and distributed in the UK by Quantitech, is a rugged analytical instrument for detecting oils, fats and TPH in water. It is a successor to the popular InfraCal, formerly manufactured by Wilks Enterprise which was acquired by Spectro in 2013. Who's it for: Providing reliable measurements in less than one minute, the InfraCal 2 has a very low maintenance requirement and is therefore suitable for use as test equipment in applications such as testing produced water on offshore installations and on board ships. It is also used for applications such as sub-ppm detection of fats, TPH or oil in water, monitoring cleaning efficiency of metal parts, measuring barrier layers in flexible films, textiles and fibre finishes, research and quality control. What's new: The latest version offers a host of new features such as multiple calibrations, lower detection limits, faster analysis, data logging and a new touch screen with security features. The ability to produce accurate readings in the field offers users a number of important benefits including faster results, lower cost per test and avoidance of the problems associated with the preservation of samples. Focus on…sampling and analysis Geotech 5000 gas analysers Geotech is rolling out firmware upgrades to its 5000 platform of portable gas analysers for landfill and biogas monitoring. The free upgrades will improve the offering to landfill and biogas plant operators who use Geotech's GA5000, GEM5000 and BIOGAS 5000 analysers. The upgrades, available from Geotech's website, will make it easier and quicker for users to keep track of daily monitoring routes and set optimum target parameters. aCOLyte 3 HD colony counter Synbiosis has launched the aCOLyte 3 HD High Resolution Colony Counter, allowing microbiologists to count microbial colonies of all sizes and colours. Featuring a high resolution megapixel CCD camera, the equipment can detect microbial colonies as small as 0.1mm and the system's powerful so ware can analyse, pour, spread and spiral plates of up to 90mm, generating colour images and a precise count in seconds. The aCOLyte 3 HD is the ideal budget system because it can be connected via a USB port to either a microbiologist's own tablet, laptop or desktop PC. Morgan Standard Flow Tube Morgan Advanced Materials has developed a ready-made standard flow tube solution which enables significant time savings for water flow meter manufacturers during the design and development phase of production. Rather than having to source multiple parts to produce a component of this nature, the standard flow tube solution allows manufacturers to eliminate discrepancies by granting them access to Morgan's technology, ensuring uniformity in the instrumentation used to measure flow rates.
