Road closures began last week in
Crossmyloof, south Glasgow, to allow
contractors working for Scottish Water
to carry out ground consolidation
work for the Shieldhall Tunnel, which
will be ongoing until the end of May.
The £100 million Shieldhall
Tunnel, 3.1 miles long and at 4.7m in
diameter, big enough to fit a double-
decker bus inside, will run between
Craigton and Queen's Park. It is part
of Scottish Water's £250 million, five-
year programme of work to improve
river water quality and tackle flooding.
