Products Xylem Flygt 4320 ● Submersible wastewater mixer ● Available in two or three bladed models ● 'Banana' design aids hydraulic effi ciency ● Can reduce energy costs by 50 per cent ● Propeller diameters from 1.4m to 2.5m ● Equipped with 'so -start' and 'so -stop' features ● Can be accessed remotely What it is: Xylem's Flygt 4320 is a new high effi ciency, low-speed, submersible wastewater mixer that can help reduce energy costs by as much as 50 per cent and is ideal for use in applications such as activated sludge treatment, biogas, and sludge holding tanks and digesters. What's new: Unlike conventional submersible mixers, the new Flygt 4320 off ers built-in speed regulation to optimise operational control over the thrust of the mixer, thereby signifi cantly reducing energy consumption. To enhance effi ciency further, the motor utilised within the Flygt 4320 is equivalent to Super Premium Effi ciency IE4 class. The mixer is combined with an integrated variable frequency drive (VFD) to minimise life cycle and energy costs, and can be easily adapted to process needs and load conditions. The pitch: Roger Webb, Industrial Sales Manager at Xylem: "Energy effi ciency is at the forefront of all wastewater treatment facilities... due to the innovative design of the Flygt 4320 mixer, treatment facilities will now have the fl exibility to adjust mixer speed and thrust to meet varying demands, signifi cantly reducing energy consumption." Focus on…mixers SPX Series 10 Sold as part of SPX's Lightnin range, series 10 mixers are mid-power units (up to 30 hp) with a wide speed range that is ideal for varying sizes of channel and vessel. Highly durable with strong housing and long bearing life, they are well proven in the water industry, and are ideal in applications such as fl occulation, chemical makeup, chlorine contact, anoxic mixing and smaller aerators. A tall pedestal confi guration is available that raises the gearbox up from the mounting structure to simplify access. GT Chemineer Anoxic mixers Manufactured by NOV, these slow speed, paddle- type anoxic mixers are built with a high-effi ciency gearbox specifi cally for agitator service, ideal for use in activated sludge plants. The modular mixers have an optimized gear design and lighter weight sha diameter requirements that makes them very energy-effi cient, and also have a quick and easy seal change capability that saves time and reduces maintenance costs. System Mix ROTAMIX As the sole UK suppliers of the bespoke design ROTAMIX (Digester Mixing) and STM (Small Tank Mixing) tank mixing systems using the integral VAUGHAN chopper pump, System Mix Ltd is making an important contribution to the success of many AD plants. The company's technology is used for many 'retrofi t' projects where existing mixing systems, or lack of them, were contributing to operational and biological issues. OF THE MONTH
