But having worked for Southern Water for more than ten years, the organisation is now working on its final project – the £63M Woolston WwTW Redevelopment Scheme. The joint venture has worked with Southern Water since the beginning of AMP4 (2005-10), and has delivered more than £1bn of environmental improvements aBV, the Amey and Black & Veatch joint venture, joins Caledonia Water Alliance and ESD, as one of three consortia helping to deliver Scottish water's capital delivery programme over the next six years. The aBV alliance is contracted to deliver in the past ten years, including a £240M scheme to build the new Peacehaven wastewater treatment works and associated infrastructure to serve the Brighton and Hove catchment. However, the contract was not renewed for AMP6, with Southern Water having opted to put its AMP6 programme with strategic solutions partner MWH, and three delivery partners, MGjv, CMDP and GTM. The two-year project is part of a £250M, five-year programme of work an- nounced in February 2013 that will continue to improve river water quality and the natural environment of the River Clyde, enable the Greater Glasgow area to grow and develop, alleviate sewer flooding and deal with the effects of increased rainfall from climate change. aBV is installing 13,500m3 of storm water storage into the sewer network to alleviate the surcharging of the sewer system. The new storm storage includes two large circular tanks, which will each be about 25m in diameter and 18m deep. The tanks are being installed in open ground adjacent to Elmvale Row to provide storage in the combined sewer network to avoid surcharging in storm conditions. The project will also includes the upsizing of 400m of wastewater pipes in the area. A significant amount of rock will have to be extracted during the project.
