WHAT'S NEW! 22 WET NEWS JULY 2015 William Hackett Chains distributes Cromox Chain products manufacturer William Hackett Chains' sales team has been on a Cromox range training course after the company signed a strategic distribution agreement for the UK and Ireland with Ketten Wälder, which manufactures the grade 6 stainless steel chain sling system. The agreement combines world class design and manufacturing with world class distribution, assembly and certification services through a network of established distributors. Tim Burgess, managing director of William Hackett Chains, commented: "The investments we are continuing to make in the product portfolio within William Hackett Chains are a clear illustration of our focus on ensuring that our products and services are The new Terex Finlay 873 is designed to work after a primary crusher or on its own as frontline screening machine. It is suitable for working in applications including construction and demolition debris, topsoil, recycling, and aggregate applications. The aggressive forward-facing inclined modular configuration has a total screening area of 14.4m 2 . Depending on the working application of the machine hydraulic adjustment can be used to vary the angle of the screen box between 13-19°. The top deck of screenbox can be fitted with a variety of screening media including tines, bofor bars, punched plate and mesh. The bottom deck can be fitted with mesh or cascade fingers, while the hopper has a 7m³ capacity as standard with a drop rear door for use in conjunction with a mobile crusher. The machine is equipped with three hydraulically folding discharge conveyors allowing for maximum stockpiling capacity and associated benefits of rapid set up and tear down times. www.terexfinlay.com Tel: 028 877 41 620 market leading in terms of quality and value and that they directly address the needs of our clients and the markets we serve." Franz Wälder, managing director of Ketten Wälder, added: "We are looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership. They are the first Getac devices to be fitted with Intel's fifth-generation Broadwell technology, which will enable the units to deliver "exceptional computing performance" in the harshest of working environments. The new processor also provides more efficient use of power, extending battery life in the field. Intel's fifth generation processing technology allows for better productivity, which is a key feature among customers when it comes to selecting mobile devices – 78% of respondents in the Enterprise Mobility Exchange Rugged Mobile Technology Report (March 2015) said it is a critical factor in their device procurement process. Both devices feature 11.6" high-definition screens with Lumibond 2.0, the latest version of Getac's proprietary technology for visibility in bright sunlight. This allows touchscreen usage in the rain, or with gloves, or with a stylus. www.getac.co.uk Tel: 01952 207222 KSB has developed an app for smart phones and tablets that can determine the efficiency of fixed-speed pumps in just 20 seconds. The KSB Sonolyzer app is based on an algorithm that has been integrated in PumpMeter units. The smart phone-based application does not require knowledge of the individual characteristic curve nor any additional technical data of the pump set to be measured. However, it can also be used with pumps from other manufacturers. Users can use the app to determine the load at which each centrifugal pump driven by a fixed-speed App works out fixed-speed pump efficiency asynchronous motor is being operated. When the measurement routine starts, the microphone built into the smart phone or tablet is used for about 20 seconds to record the noise emitted by the fan of the electric motor. This noise spectrum is then filtered by the application to ascertain the exact speed of the pump set and determine the torque. The KSB Sonolyzer app is available for the iOS and Android operating systems. www.ksb.com Tel: 01509 231872 U Mole has added the Grundomat N Generation Mole to its trenchless technology portfolio. An advantage of the Grundomat N Generation is the way in which it works with the minimum of disruption for the contractors utilising it. The technology will, it is claimed, lead to faster project completion without the need for large scale excavation. Another plus point is the reduced level of pollution generated – noise, CO2 and fine dust particle emission. The crowned head expands the bore directly to the full bore diameter and the ultra-sharp crowns make quick work of any larger stones blocking progress, fragmenting and disposing of them. The small Latest mole completes projects quicker contact surface of the crowns maintains impact whilst maximising efficiency and debris is carried through the gaps in the cutting crowns and displaced to the rear of the mole. www.vpgroundforce.com/gb/ trenchless-technology Tel: 0800 0288 242 Polypipe is reinforcing its commitment to onsite health and safety with the introduction of its new Extended & Heavy Duty Ridgistorm-XL Lifting Points. Designed with installation teams in mind, the range aids in the handling and lifting of Ridgistorm- XL chambers up to 2,500kg in weight and in diameters between 1,050mm-3,000mm. This is an extension to the existing range of Standard Lifting points, which can lift chambers from 1,050mm-1,800mm, up to 1,500kg. The lifting points offer a fail-safe design and are welded externally to the chamber to reduce working in confined spaces. They can also be used as an anti-flotation device to stop chambers from floating during concrete filling. Li•ing points reduces confined space working Flowplant has introduced a remote monitoring option across its entire range of high pressure drain jetters. Remote service monitoring facilitates condition-based maintenance programmes that are proven to reduce lifetime service costs, minimise the possibility of breakdowns and improve machine utilisation. Also, the system provides a remote Keeping track on pressure drain jetters location tracker that shows whether the van pack is operating and where it is at any given time. Remote condition monitoring is used to identify a significant change in a jetter's condition or performance, which may be indicative of a fault and forms an essential element of predictive maintenance. The use of condition monitoring allows maintenance to be scheduled, or other measures to be undertaken that can prevent a failure and avoid its consequences. Conditions that could shorten normal jetter lifespan can be addressed before they develop into a major failure. www.flowplant.com Tel: 01722 325424 Water and asset monitoring specialist HWM has designed the new Touch Pro correlator for improved performance and ease of use. The unit features upgraded electronics throughout the leak noise processing path to deliver better results in traditionally difficult leak detection situations, such as on plastic or large diameter pipes. The Touch Pro's high-visibility full-colour VGA touch screen greatly improves data entry and the quality of graphical representation. The 'intuitive' user interface enables operation with the minimum number of key presses and the step-by-step menu system easily guides the user through the correlation process. The new correlator is equipped with an Automated Filtering Intelligence System (AFIS) that automatically runs up to 55 different filter 'Intuitive' correlator gives improved performance combinations on each correlation, checking the quality of the result and optimising the filters to obtain the best possible result. The system can be used with both live and pre-recorded correlation data, removing the need for manual filter setting by building a virtual "expert user" into the unit. www.hwm-water.com Tel: 01633 489479 Water management specialist Graf UK has unveiled EcoBloc Maxx, a new stormwater system that delivers the highest level of flexibility, enhanced volume capacity and ease of maintenance.
