40 | JULY 2015 | WWT | www.wwtonline.co.uk Nuts & Bolts Sourcing products, solutions and services WRAS approval opens up new markets for Albion Albion Valves has secured approval from the UK's Water Regulations Approval Scheme (WRAS), on their range of solenoid valves, now compliant for potable water applications across the HVAC industry as well as industrial and process sectors. A solenoid is electromechanically operated valve controlled by a magnetic current. The simple and unique design of the solenoid offers fast and safe switching and high reliability, making them one of the most commonplace ranges of valves in the UK water and building services industries. www.albionvalvesuk.com Graf UK unveils EcoBloc Maxx Water management specialist Graf UK has unveiled EcoBloc Maxx – a new stormwater system that delivers a high level of flexibility, enhanced volume capacity and ease of maintenance. EcoBloc Maxx is the new addition to Graf UK's EcoBloc range of stormwater systems. Completely modular, EcoBloc Maxx is made from expertly- designed plastic cells that fit seamlessly together to build a tailor-made stormwater solution. Its innovative design not only allows for complete ease of installation, but provides high storage volume and is conveniently stackable – minimising transport costs, CO2 emissions and storage space in stock. www.grafuk.co.uk WEG expands CFW11 variable speed drive range WEG, a leading global manufacturer of drive technology, has added a new powerful and versatile frame size H variable speed drive to its CFW11 series to help optimise processes and boost productivity in high power level applications. Available in two versions - covering the voltage range from 380 to 690 V and the power range from 450 to 710 kW in normal operation - the CFW11 in frame size H can control both squirrel-cage and permanent-magnet motors and is designed for normal and heavy load operation in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. www.weg.net/uk Bredel widens APEX hose pump range Bredel Hose Pumps (part of Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group) has added two new models to its APEX range of seal-less, valve-less hose pumps. Widening the APEX performance envelope to 6,200 litres/hour at pressures of up to 8 bar, the new APEX28 and APEX35 pumps offer significant Capex and Opex savings compared to other pump technologies in chemically aggressive or abrasive applications. User feedback has demonstrated that, when compared with existing pump technologies such as air-operated diaphragm pumps and progressive cavity pumps, the new APEX models can extend the time between scheduled maintenance intervals dramatically. www.wm g.com KSB release mobile app for pumps To help plant operators increase productivity and transparency as well as improve competitiveness across the entire life cycle, pump manufacturer KSB has developed an app for smart phones and tablets that can determine the efficiency of fixed-speed pumps in just 20 seconds. The KSB Sonolyzer app is based on an algorithm that has been integrated in PumpMeter units for five years now, of which well over 30,000 have already been sold. The smart phone-based application does not require knowledge of the individual characteristic curve nor additional technical data, and can be used with pumps from other manufacturers. www.ksb.com Talis unveils ROCO wave butterfly valve Talis UK, the UK valve, meterbox and water fitting specialist, has introduced a new butterfly valve to its offering. The ERHARD ROCO wave Butterfly Valve aims to establish new industry standards of valve safety, economic efficiency and durability with its innovative, fresh design. The ROCO wave has been designed in a flow- optimised way so it can safely withstand the force of water, as well as realise the least possible pressure loss compared with other butterfly valves available on the market. The valve comes with two disc designs – ERHARD's principle wave disc, for standard pressure ratings and small diameter valves, and the 'Skeleton' butterfly disc, designed for larger diameter valves and higher pressure ratings. www.talis-uk.com
