12 ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê Winner Anglian Water For its Bits and Bobs initiative, a free service where qualified plumbers carry out custom home water audits, retrofit water efficiency devices and educate the utility's customers on smart water usage. ✰Highly commended: Stonbury and Northumbrian Water for their Community Portal online tool for communicating with customers about schemes being undertaken and how they will affect them. ✰Finalist: Northumbrian Water Group for its Project Insight scheme, aimed at increasing the service that customers receive during the planning an implementation of capital projects. ✰Finalist: Severn Trent Water and Amey for their initiative of Getting To Know The Key Stakeholders at Feasibility Stage using traditional and digital methods. ✰Finalist: Severn Trent Water and NMCNomenca for their Cheltenham Sewerage Strategy, where they carried out customer engagement in a timely and proactive manner. ✰Finalist: Yorkshire Water for its Taking Responsibility for the Water Environment for Good initiative, which includes a new customer and stakeholder engagement plan for the project. Customer Satisfaction Initiative of the Year ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê What the judges said: The Bits and Bobs scheme will improve customer engagement. It's all about going out to people and getting one-to-one engagement. It's something all the water companies should be doing. Winner LORImtech, CNG Services and Severn Trent Services For the Minworth Gas-to-Grid project, which is providing a carbon saving of 29,000 tonnes/yr. The gas-to-grid plant produces 700m3/hr of biomethane gas and processes 5,800 litres of sewage every second. ✰Highly commended: BACTEST for its Shepherd AS Monitoring & Management System, which enables the energy costly process of aeration to be cut. ✰Finalist: H5O and South West Water for the Holbeton Bathing Waters Scheme, where the objective was to maximise carbon reduction benefits while helping the local community. ✰Finalist: Kier for the St Eval SPT and Transfer Main project, which achieved savings through consideration of materials, resource use and redesign, and no-dig techniques. ✰Finalist: Suprafilt Aeration Experts for the Market Drayton STW upgrade, where a 45% reduction in energy usage has been achieved through the use of appropriate mixers and aeration diffusers. ✰Finalist: Yorkshire Water for its CO2llaborate campaign, a colleague engagement and behavioural change programme that provides a specific focus on energy optimisation of assets. Carbon Reduction Initiative of the Year ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê What the judges said: The Minworth Gas to Grid project will make a big difference. They scheme is innovative, with the team having thought through every piece of the workings. It's very efficient.
