14 Winner Pamela Taylor Outstanding Individual Contribution ā°Championing the needs of the water and sewerage companies earned Water UK's chief executive, Pamela Taylor, Outstanding Individual Contribution to the Water Industry. Pamela's achievements are numerous but notably she has been responsible for aligning the timetable for the Water Framework Directive and Bathing Waters Directive, saving water customers millions of pounds. She also ensured water companies have become statutory consultees in the planning process for any shale gas developments in England and Wales. Pamela is also a big supporter of Water Aid; and set up both Waterwise and the Water for Health Alliance. She is also former president of Eureau. Her passion for the water sector and services to charity earned her an OBE in 2004. But it is 17 years ago that she had the foresight to create an organisation - Water UK - that brought together all the major water and sewerage companies and the drinking water only companies for the rst time. Remarkably, the organisation was set up in just 28 days and was based on a blueprint that Pamela had written.
