Anaerobic digestion specialist Andigestion has announced that it has appointed Jon Stait as plant manager at its new Bishops Cleeve site in Gloucestershire. Stait will be responsible for directing and coordinating the daily running of the plant and will be recruiting six new employees to work on the site in the future. The plant has recently started to process food waste from household collections and taken the first collections from local schools. Stait said: "It is an exciting opportunity as the facility is brand new and the technology we are using is state-of-the-art. We are now up and running, and working hard to ensure the plant is at full capacity as soon as possible." Movers & shakers Resource management firm Viridor has appointed Derek Edwards as its new South East regional director. He will be based at the company's materials recycling facility in Crayford, Kent. Edwards joins Viridor from sales and logistics specialist Automotive Distributors. Speaking about his appointment, Edwards said: "It's great to join Viridor at a time when the sector is significantly evolving. It is clear that with the challenging conditions in the secondary markets and the need for new economic paradigms, all businesses in the sector need to be ever more quality driven and customer focused."
