More information: www.utilityweeklive.co.uk Reader of the week Andrew Baird, technical director, WPL "Cars have always been very special to me. The best was my Nissan Patrol that I took through the Sahara on an expedition" What was your first job? I was an apprentice fabrication engineer at a small, specialised fabrication company based in North Yorkshire. The company originally made bombs during the Second World War and continued to use the same principles to make pressure vessels until it closed in the mid-80s. What are the best and worst parts of your job? I love meeting technical design challenges for the bespoke wastewater treatment systems we develop. Admin is the worst aspect of the job. What's your dream job and why? Travel photographer. My dream trip would be Burma, photographing temples. What's your most treasured possession? Cars have always been very special to me. The best was my Nissan Patrol that I took through the Sahara on an expedition when living in Nigeria. Now I have a company car, so it would have to be my cameras. In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you? Jean Reno. What album is currently in your car CD player? None – I was brought up on punk rock and no longer appreciate music. What's your favourite film and TV programme? Film: The Big Blue. TV: Top Gear before its demise; now it's MasterChef. What quote or saying do you most overuse? "Never 'assume'. It makes an ass out of you and me." If you ruled the world, what would you do first? Declare a one-day holiday for everyone.
