More information: www.utilityweeklive.co.uk Reader of the week David Mooney, managing director, Drallim Industries "My dream job is to be a joiner, going back to childhood times learning a trade from my grandfather" What was your first job? I joined the family building and joinery business as a plumber and electrician before I went to university. You learn a tremendous work ethic when so much depends on you. What are the best and worst parts of your job I have a great job with different technical and commercial chal- lenges every day. Developing successful new products is the greatest buzz. The toughest part is getting the "people stuff " just right. What's your dream job and why? I would be a joiner, going back to those wonderful childhood times learning a trade from my grandfather. What's your most treasured possession? A hunting knife that my brother- in-law sent me from America, it's great for sharpening pencils in my wood shop and looks great on my tool belt. In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you? Anthony Hopkins. What album is currently in your car CD player? Queen, Greatest Hits II. What's your favourite film and TV programme? Braveheart and Doctor Who. What quote or saying do you most overuse? "I could make that cheaper." If you ruled the world, what would you do first? Make affordable housing avail- able to the young and poor. What's your favourite joke? To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. Drallim is an exhibitor at Utility Week Live, 21-23 April, Birmingham NEC. Find out more at www.utilityweeklive.co.uk
