The company says that the bin is ideal for use in schools, colleges, businesses and leisure places. The black bin body, with its 'tidyman' logo, is manufactured from 100% recycled polyethylene, according to Leafield. The bright eye-catching lids come in a variety of colours including red, lime green, grey, blue and dark green. According to the company, the bin has a capacity of 120 litres and 100 litres when used with an internal liner. The lift-off, dome-shaped lid deters users from putting items on the top, according to Leafield. Double apertures provide easy 'walk by' access and the lid is easily removed for emptying. Secure locking and stubber plate are optional. In a statement, Leafield Environmental said: "Despite its economy price point, this high durability, Dome Top Metro bin will give many years of useful service." www.leafieldrecycle.com Movers & shakers DS Smith has appointed Jim Malone as its new head of recycling. Malone replaces Peter McGuinness who has become director of sustainability across the whole of the DS Smith Group. DS Smith chief executive Miles Roberts said: "Peter McGuinness has overseen a great period of growth for the company, including the consolidation of SCA Packaging. He will continue to play an important role within DS Smith. "Jim Malone will lead the Recycling Division in the next phase of development, growing the company through a mixture of organic growth and acquisition." Jim Malone was previously European sales and purchasing director at DS Smith's Recycling Division. He has worked at the company for 20 years. Active within the recycling industry, Malone spent the last year as chairman of the CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) Recycling and Products Committee and is now an active member of the new CEPI Raw Materials Committee. Malone said: "Peter has done a fantastic job building up the recycling division...". He added: "I'm looking forward to further developing the business and expanding our recycling services on a pan-European level." Dome Top Metro litter bin
