26 WET NEWS march 2015 Quantitech first launched the Infracal 2, a portable oil in water analyser, in 2013 and the company said there has been a heavy demand for this instrument in the oil sector because of the new functionality that now comes as standard. The Infracal 2 can now be operated from an internal battery and also provides lower detection limits. however, the original Infracal could not store multiple calibrations or log readings, so the latest instrument can be more independent, making it better suited to remote operation. The company is hoping the analyser will become popular in a wider range of other manufacturing and processing industries, including wastewater and fracking. The original Infracal is still available, but with a touch-screen display. The Infracal 2 is easier to use and delivers superior performance for sub-ppm detection of oil in water. www.quantitech.co.uk Tel: 01908 227722 Stainless steel fittings conform to ISO 4144 albion Valves, supplier of specialist products for the water industry, is one of the first companies in the UK to introduce a range of stainless steel fittings that conform to the current ISO 4144 Standard designed to specify the pressure, temperature ratings and dimensions of this product group. The new range features a wide variety of different fittings available in sizes from 1/8"-4", all of which utilities in the UK although it can be configured to cope with a wide variety of sludges from the food industry, paper and pulp sectors, pharmaceutical industry among others. The plant had originally been using submersible pumps for sewage transfer duties, but these had become inefficient. mono designed and installed an above-ground munchpump package, which includes two EZstrip progressing cavity pumps and two SB munchers, in a duty / standby arrangement, transferring the sewage at 25m3/h to the main sewerage system. The munchers meet the standard's criteria, offering customers an extensive choice. Stainless steel does not readily corrode, rust or stain with water, making it the primary choice of material used in water systems, from safe drinking water supply to complex industrial water supply systems such as in hospitals, schools and hotels. however, although it is commonplace for engineers to assess system components for quality including valves, it is less likely that the fittings are checked or conform to the industry standard. www.albionvalvesuk.com Tel: 01226 729 900 macerate any solids within the flow to a small particle size, therefore protecting the pumps from any large solids, which could cause blockages. combining a mono progressing cavity pump with a mono muncher allows the use of small bore pipework, typically 50mm, which is a Godwin pump added to hire fleet Modular screening unit with larger capacity more cost effective solution to the traditional 100mm rising main sewer and offers the further advantage of eliminating the risks of solids settling and septicity. www.mono-pumps.com Tel: 0161 339 9000 Terex minerals Processing Systems (mPS) has launched its largest modular screening unit to date. The new mhS8203 horizontal Screen module increases the screening capacity and application capabilities of its existing modular product range. Its horizontal Screen module features the new cedarapids LJ-TSV 1,438 x 6,096mm screen with El-Jay oval stroke action. The module's easy-to-use blending gate system and rolling chute mechanism permit exceptional product control. Other key features include an extra heavy-duty I-beam frame, rigid diagonal truss construction, and a galvanized steel structure including walkways, stairs and guard rails. The module structure and all its components are cE/ISO compliant. Designed with logistics in mind, the entire mhS8203 module is easy to transport in shipping containers. The modular product line consists of several pre-designed static and semi-static crushing and screening "plug and play" modules. Set-up time and ease of operation is aided by the simplicity of the modular product range. www.terexmps.com. This new product combines the proven reliability of the Godwin Dri-Prime portable pumps with sustained high efficiency and easily maintainable hydraulic technology. The Godwin Nc Series pumps have innovative self-clean technology that not only increases reliability but is proven to be non-clogging and to enable non-stop performance. higher efficiencies result in energy savings, and lower fuel costs. Unplanned downtime is also reduced. The automatic self-priming venturi priming system primes and reprimes from dry with no operator assistance or foot valve required. Typical areas of application include: sewer and bypass plant, pumping station back-up, sludge pumping, storm water, digester cleaning and industrial effluent plants. The Godwin Nc Series pumps are equipped for standalone operation and do not require a generator. www.sldpumpspower.co.uk Tel: 0870 182 0657 Free chlorine sensors launched Sensorex's FcL Series free chlorine sensors use amperometric measurement technology to provide highly accurate monitoring of free chlorine in process applications. FcL sensors are suitable for use in drinking water disinfection and distribution applications, and are compliant with EPa method 334.0 for measuring drinking water. They are also well suited for providing accurate free chlorine monitoring in cooling tower water, an important application for industrial water treatment system providers. Three models are available covering the 0-2ppm, 0-5ppm and 0-10ppm ranges, and meet a broad range of performance requirements. Its membrane design features a mesh reinforcement clamp for increased stability and added durability. Features such as interchangeable slits, indicator LEDs and simpler device connectors provide great flexibility for a wide range of UV-Vis applications in the lab or field. The Flame's remote sensing capabilities can be used to measure solar irradiance, UV dosimetry, reflected colour of plants and animals, volcanic emissions, or water quality and soil monitoring. It is fully configurable across the 190-1,100nm wavelength range for use in absorbance, transmission, reflectance, irradiance and colour applications. Spectrometers come preconfigured or custom configured, with interchangeable slits that enable users to adjust resolution and throughput on demand. For example, the user can reconfigure the same spectrometer from high resolution for absorbance to high throughput for fluorescence in seconds. www.OceanOptics.com Tel: +31 (0)26 319 05 00 InfraCal analyser in demand eliminate ground loop errors, reduce noise, and block high voltage transient surges. a large electrolyte reservoir with an easy-to-replace membrane cap and electrolyte solution reduce maintenance intervals and maximise sensor life. www.sensorex.com Tel: +1 714-895-4344 Free sludge screen trial offer cDEnviro is offering companies currently processing sludge the opportunity to trial the S:maX SrU:25 sludge screen, free of charge. The two aTEX-compliant vessels, part of chemviron carbon's extensive cYcLEVENT range of gas-phase filters, are supplied on a service (rental) basis, avoiding the need for customer capex in fixed filter vessels. The filters offer a convenient "plug and play" operation, thereby eliminating the need for onsite carbon handling. The larger of the two units, called the cYcLEVENT mach4, is an 18m3 vessel for larger flow applications, whereas the smaller unit, the mach4S, holds 2m3 of activated carbon. The vessels can be supplied with either a choice of impregnated carbons, for the removal of h2S (hydrogen sulfide), or non- impregnated extruded carbons for the abatement of siloxanes and other VOcs from biogas streams. They are equally suitable for either upstream protection of chP engines, or as part of a gas upgrading process in biomethane gas-to-grid facilities. www.chemvironcarbon.com Tel: 01942 275 400
