Leafield Environmental Leafield Environmental will be demonstrating its range of high-durability recycling products at this year's Cleaning Show exhibition in London (10-12 March 2015). The stand will feature the evolution of the Meridian Envirobin, a 110-litre capacity, slim-line bin originally designed to take two waste streams in one unit with a 70:30 split; mixed recyclables to non-recyclable waste, in order to encourage recycling. The Meridian has a narrow footprint and flat back that can be placed against a wall in corridors without causing obstruction. According to Leafield, its Meridian bin has triple-lid configurations, a 100% open-lid version, liquid reservoirs and a liner system with food waste caddy for those adopting a bagless approach to recycling. Because the lids are interchangeable, customers can reconfigure the bins to suit their changing recycling requirements without the need to purchase further bins. New EnviroStack space saving stackable bins that allow collection of up to four types of recycling in one flexible and stackable unit will also debut at the show. Elsewhere, on display for the first time will be the Steribin with pedal operated single lid, designed for use in environments where hygiene is a high priority. According to the firm, with three years of service under their belt, the overall performance of the 54 Isuzu rigid trucks that are working in the Cory Environmental fleet, operating on a contract on behalf of Cornwall Council, has ticked all the right boxes in terms of reliability, payload and operational support. Asked about the initial experience of their first ever Isuzu in the Cornwall fleet, Cory Environmental senior workshop manager Mark Hamblin said: "We cannot fault the Isuzu trucks that we have here in Cornwall, the original build quality of the trucks was first-class and so far we have found them not only to be reliable kit but in practice they have also given us excellent payload. "Furthermore, and most importantly, the support that we have had from local dealer T Harvey & Sons has been really superb. It goes without saying that we have now built up a very strong working relationship with Harvey's during the three years." Between December 2011 and April 2012, Cory Environmental replaced 54 incumbent vehicles with brand-new 3.5t and 7.5t Isuzu rigid trucks.
