New campaign Recycling locator tool unveiled WRAP's Recycle Now cam- paign is supporting partners in their efforts to increase effective recycling with the launch of the 'Recycling Locator'. The online tool is designed to help make recy- cling information clearer and more straightforward for householders, so they can easily find out how and where items can be recycled locally. It allows householders to iden- tify the materials that are accepted as part of their local recycling col- lection scheme; both at the kerb- side and at bring sites. The tool has been created with involve- ment from Waste Awareness Wales, WRAP Northern Ireland and Valpak. New contractor Printwaste links with ACE UK ACE UK has announced that it has appointed Printwaste as the new contractor for its beverage carton bring bank service. Cheltenham- based Printwaste takes over the collection service for ACE UK's bring banks across most of England, Scotland and Wales. Cartons collected via the service will continue to be recycled at ACE UK's carton recycling facility in Stainland, West Yorkshire and Printwaste will use the same bins and vehicles as before, so local authorities and other participat- ing organisations will receive a smooth transition to the new con- tractor. ACE UK senior recycling manager Fay Dashper says that her organisation has built up an "excellent working relationship with the company". Packaging and paper SAICA boosts Scottish arm Paper and packaging specialist SAICA Group has announced a spate of investments in Scotland to improve the range of services it offers customers north of the boarder. This includes new and improved machinery in SAICA's Pack and Paper divisions com- prising of a one-of-a-kind 'conver- sion' machine that can return high-quality five colour cases in one pass, according to the firm. Following the addition of inter- unit driers SAICA have the capability to manufacture cases including coated liners, full pro- cess printing and various varnish- es. This investment is helping SAICA Pack to meet the growing demand from clients for highly decorated cases. Legislation BIS selects JTA The Joint Trade Associations (JTA) has been notified by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) that its proposal for a Compliance Fee mechanism has been selected by BIS for the 2014 compliance period. In September 2014, the JTA sub- mitted to BIS, a proposed mecha- nism, incorporating a calculation methodology developed by FTI, one of the UK's leading econom- ics consultancy groups. The JTA Proposal recommended that the Administrator of the compli- ance fee mechanism should be Mazars LLP (Mazars), a UK top-ten accountancy firm. The JTA represents nine major trade associations in the electrical sector and has worked with three producer led WEEE compliance schemes.
