www.wwtonline.co.uk | WWT | FEBRUARY 2015 | 37 H&S accreditation for Aqua Enviro Environmental consultancy Aqua Enviro has been awarded BS OHSAS 18001 accreditation, an international standard for occupational health and safety management good practice. Achieved over a 12-month pe- riod and a series of assessments and audits, the certification "demonstrates our commit- ment to ensuring health and safety as well as meeting the requirements of our clients on larger framework contracts," said senior process scientist Emma Morley. www.aquaenviro.co.uk South Staffs opts for Denso South Staffs water has selected Winn & Coales Denso Steelcoat 100, 400 and 700 systems for work on one of its pipebridges. Contractors Deborah Services protected the 30m length of pre-prepared pipe with Denso Steelcoat 100 and 400 Tape Wrap systems, the latter consist- ing of hi-tack primer, Denso profiling mastic, hi-tack tape and Ultraseal tape, followed by two coats of acrylic topcoat. The Denso Steelcoat 700 system was applied to the pipebridge's concrete stanchions. www.denso.net Grundfos launches new submersibles Grundfos has announced the launch of a new range of medium SP submersible pumps. The range extensions will offer four options – 7, 9, 11 and 14, allowing for better coverage of duty points and higher efficien- cies across flow ranges. Features include improved cable guards, an integral non-return valve to minimise damage from water hammering, sand-re- sistant bearings and a modular, stainless steel construction. www.grundfos.co.uk Improved pumping performance A NOV Mono single progressing cavity pump has been installed to pump agricultural effluent on a farm in New Zealand. The single pump replaces a number of centrifugal pumps and has improved performance over a distance of 3.7km. The Mono Epsilon E1AD operates at 12bar and 120rpm, delivering 35cu m of effluent per hour. It has improved perfor- mance, reduced energy usage and, thanks to Mono's Flexisha drive sha connection, negates the need for lubricant and eliminates wearing components between the drive end and the pumping element. www.mono-pumps.com New monitoring range from CTG Chelsea Technologies Group (CTG) has launched a range of online and portable monitoring systems to address the needs of both water supply and water recovery plants. Of particular interest to environ- mental monitoring sectors, the new systems help address the requirements of the Bathing Water Directive, Water Framework Direc- tive and Shellfish Waters Directive. The systems are the Bacti-Station, Bacti-Wader, BOD-Station, BOD- Wader, Algae-Station, Algae-Wader, Oil-Station and the Oil-Wader. A new Cross-Check portable system is also now available to monitor misconnections in the network. www.chelsea.co.uk Danish closed system chooses Grundfos The Truelsjerg waterworks in Denmark's second-biggest city, Aarhus, has installed a new closed, above-ground water treatment system, supported by Grundfos, that pioneers a method that delivers the high- est possible water quality. The closed system, which re- sults in an end to open cascade aerators that are vulnerable to contaminants, utilises a wide range of Grundfos pumps to support all the processes needed from source through to delivery at the tap. www.grundfos.co.uk PermaNet improvements HWM has added secondary validation to its PermaNet leak detection system. Once a leak has been identified, the new PermaNet+ gives opera- tors three secondary options to check for false positives prior to deploying a team – remote correlation, remote retrieval of a detailed aqualog noise graphic or listening to an audio file trans- ferred to the host PC. Every compo- nent is installed in the cham- ber – no above- ground in- stallations needed – and the unit, which is smaller than its predecessor, is fully programmable including the ability to change sampling times and intervals. www.hwm-water.com MCERT success for Pulsar Pulsar Process Measurement's FlowCERT non-contacting ultrasonic open channel flow measurement systems have each achieved the highest Class 1 level during re-certification to the latest update to the MCERTs certification process. The latest, more rigorous, version of the MCERTS tests include a simulation of varying solar radiation, which can have a significant effect on level measurement instrumenta- tion of all types. FlowCERT with DUET had the highest accuracy of any manufacturer's instru- ment tested. www.pulsar-pm.com Nuts & Bolts Sourcing products, solutions and services
