12 ALLIANCES 2015 Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water's (DCWW) new Capital Delivery Alliance (CDA) will be responsible for the design and build of water and wastewater assets above and below ground in AMP6 , and potentially AMP7. Partners appointed to CDA comprise Skanska Construc- tion UK, working with Hyder Consulting (UK); MMB; and Morgan Sindall, working with Arup. Galliford Try Infrastruc- ture, working with AECOM, is a reserve capital partner. The new alliance will drive value in the planning and pre-construction phase, said DCWW, and the partners will deliver a third of its total AMP6 capital delivery programme, while the in-house engineering team will deliver a third. Welsh Water said working collaboratively in the new alliance was a key driver in its selection of AMP6 partners. Bill Gifford, Morgan Sindall's water director said: Southern Water has selected CMDP, a new joint venture between MWH and Costain, to be one of its AMP6 delivery partners. The joint venture will provide design and build solutions for the development and delivery of Southern's water and wastewater non- infrastructure programme as part of its £3B Business Plan for 2015-2020. "We are very pleased to be continuing our successful partnership with Welsh Water and look forward to starting work on the new projects next year. As part of the framework, we provide Early Contractor Involvement services ensuring we deliver best value and a high quality service to Welsh Water and their customers." The work is worth an initial £200M to the joint venture over the five-year period and will see CMDP working collaboratively with Southern Water and other delivery partners to bring together detailed design, construction and commissioning expertise. The appointment marks confirmation of both MWH and Costain's ongoing partnership with Southern Water, having played a major part in their AMP 3, AMP4 and AMP5 programmes as part of 4Delivery. There will also be the option to extend the framework beyond 2020 into AMP7. John Abraham, chief operating officer of MWH Constructors Inc & Treatment, said: "Collaboration will be a key factor for successful delivery. The contract is currently in the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, in preparation for the start of AMP6 delivery from April.
