6 ALLIANCES 2015 4Delivery (4D), the joint venture comprising Veolia Water, Costain and MWH, is now in its tenth year working for Southern Water. However, the contract has not been renewed, with Southern opting to put its AMP6 programme with strategic solutions partner MWH, and three delivery partners, MGjv, CMDP and GTM, instead. Graham Dickinson, market- ing director at MWH con- firmed the contract will come to an end when AMP5 finishes. However, he said any work that has commenced in AMP5 will be completed by 4D even if that runs on a„er March 2015. "It will still be completed by 4D. There will be some work that runs on a„er March 2015," he added. 4D is one of the longer serving consortiums in the water sector, and has been responsible for delivering much of Southern Water's MWH and Balfour Beatty have joined forces for United Utilities' (UU) AMP6 capital delivery programme. The JV, called Advance, is one of four capital delivery partners appointed to develop and deliver clean and wastewater, infrastructure and non-infra- structure solutions. Advance along with the other three delivery partners capital delivery for AMP5. Major projects include construction of the Peace- haven Wastewater Treatment Works; the £20M Portsmouth Flood Alleviation Scheme helping to protect Ports- mouth during heavy rainstorms; and the £25M Millbrook Water Treatment Works extension project in Southampton Docks. The joint venture has also just started work on the £63M (MMB, C2V+, LiMA) have already started working on a transition investment programme in preparation for the start of AMP6. The construction delivery partners will help with the design and build of major construction projects. UU managing director Steven Fraser said contract awards were the "result of a redevelopment project at Southern Water's Woolston Wastewater Treatment Works at Southampton. 4D's first task involves constructing a temporary works to treat wastewater before sections of the existing facility is demolished.
