OCTOBER 2014 WET NEWS 3 M ott MacDonald has tak- en over its UK water in- dustry design and build joint venture partner Bentley Holdings, including its subsidi- ary company JN Bentley, for an undisclosed sum. The develop- ment is described as a natural progression in the successful 15- year partnership between the companies through the Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) joint venture. The MMB joint venture, which was set up 15 years ago, has new and extended JN Bentley employs 700-plus people and has a turnover of £120M. More than 80% of its business is derived through MMB, which was established in 1999 to operate as a wholly inte- grated, co-located JV by M EICA provider Nomenca has achieved CE mark- ing compliance. The de- velopment is in response to a new European standard that re- quires steelwork contractors to work to a speci" c 'Execution Class' suitable for their project, as determined by BS EN 1090-1. Nomenca Fabrication is now accredited up to and including EXC3. Since initial contracts for AMP3, MMB has grown substantially through AMPs 4 and 5, leading to new and extended appointments as AMP6 delivery partner for Yorkshire Water, Severn Trent Water, Anglian Water, United Utilities and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water.
