La Asociación Latinoamericana de Desalación y Reusó de
agua (ALADYR) through gecAmin is organizing the most
important desalination and water reuse event in Latin America.
Desalination and the treatment of wastewater and industrial
effluents through membrane technologies have arrived in Latin
America. new, increasingly demanding, environmental regu-
lations require the use of more advanced technologies, such as
desalination. indeed, seawater use has positioned itself as the
main source of water supply in many parts of the region.
Sixty abstracts have been approved by authors from
13 countries including Australia, Brazil, israel, Peru, Spain
and the USA.
Simultaneous Spanish-english interpretation will be available
in all sessions.

congress themes include
• design and construction of desalination plants;
• operation and maintenance of desalination plants;
• reuse of wastewater;
• effluent treatment based on membrane technology; and
• environmental aspects of Desalination marine works.
ALADYR will name the winners of the LAtAm WAteR
AWARDS 2014 for excellence in the global water industry in
Latin America.
