Five Austrian gas companies – OMV Gas & Power, EVN, WIEN ENERGIE, EGBV and BEGAS –
have pooled their trading and distribution activities in EconGas in order to build a position of
permanent strength in the demanding wholesale and business-to-business markets at national and
international level. The company's core business comprises the direct marketing of natural gas to
gas distributors and to business customers with an annual consumption of more than 500,000 cubic
metres in Austria and other European countries, as well as trading on international gas markets.
