The CHPA works to promote energy efficiency and environmental improvement through the wider
use of combined heat and power (CHP) and community heating. Membership includes major
energy utilities, equipment suppliers, engineering consultants, energy management companies,
local authorities and users of CHP.
The association focuses on three key areas of activity on behalf of its members:
• Acting to reduce the institutional, regulatory, political and market barriers to CHP and community
heating in the UK and Europe
• Promoting the development of the market through appropriate marketing activities
• Facilitating targeted research and development designed to enhance the role of CHP.
