Formerly known as AFAQ-EAQA, the organisation changed its name to AFNOR UK in 2011. It has
provided certification services to internationally recognised standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001
and OHSAS 18001 for more than 30 years. It uses a practical, process-based approach tailored to
clients' needs.
AFNOR UK has registered some of the world's most significant power players, including the first
power station to certify to the environmental standard.
It also offers distance learning programmes to the power sector, ranging from fundamentals
such as general induction courses to authoritative programmes such as the premier power system
course. AFNOR UK's newest course in this range deals with operating biomass plants. AFNOR UK is
part of the AFNOR Group, one of the world's largest standardisation and certification organisations.
