Northern Ireland Electricity Ltd (NIE), owns and maintains the electricity transmission and
distribution network and operates the electricity distribution network which transports electricity to
more than 840,000 customers.
NIE was acquired by ESB in December 2010.
NIE deals with failure of electricity supply, connections and alteration to supply, lines and
equipment and meter reading for customers in Northern Ireland.
