The WATER INDUSTRY ENERGY & CARBON MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE, taking place on day one of Sustainable Water 2014, examines the challenges of reducing energy usage and carbon emissions and increasing renewable energy investment. Join over 100 representatives from water companies and contractors with responsibility for energy management and procurement; operations; sustainability; asset management and wastewater networks and treatment to: • Find out how Anglian Water is investing in effi ciency infrastructure to deliver cost-effective and sustainable projects • Explore whether the UK's 80% GHG reduction by 2050 is a SMART target or deluded optimism • Gain fi rst-hand insight into Scottish Water's energy strategy and self-suffi cient treatment works • Explore how Yorkshire Water is achieving renewable energy performance through production behaviour • Examine how Thames Water is working with customers to fulfi l its renewable energy ambition • Understand the principles and projects behind Wessex Water's carbon management strategy Organised by Supported by To view the full agenda and register for this event and/or the Environmental Water Management Conference taking place on the 24th, visit: www.sustainable-water.co.uk Follow us @WWTlive using #suswater Sponsored by Supported by SusWater14-WIECMC.indd 1 28/07/2014 12:50 MSE Hiller Dewatering centrifuges www.mandse.com MSE Hiller specialises in the rental and sales of dewatering centrifuges into environmental applications within the water treatment and process industries. Its range of decanter type centrifuges can be supplied with either hydraulic or electrical regenerative back drive capability for automatically adjusting the scroll speed to suit the solids loading of the feed. SH+E UK Treatment plants www.he-water.co.uk SH+E Group designs and builds water and wastewater treatment plants for industrial and municipal applications. For water treatment it uses all available technologies, supplying pure water treatment systems for power generation, electronics / photovoltaic, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and general industrial applications. Fluid Flow Computational Fluid Dynamics www.thefluidgroup.com Fluid Flow (known as The Fluid Group) is a specialist in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) for water, chemical and environmental engineering. CFD modelling is used for things such as mixing tanks, reservoirs, and pumping stations. The kit: MPC-Bouys LG Sounds www.lgsonic.com To provide an environmentally-friendly solution to prevent the growth of blue-green algae, Dutch company LG Sound initiated a successful project with the new MPC-Buoy in the Skrzyneckie Male in Poznan, Poland. As part of the Clearwater project, two MPC-Buoys were installed in the Skrzyneckie Male lake (10.7 ha) in Poznan, Poland. The MPC-Buoys provided a complete overview of the water quality by collecting the following MegaPure hollow fibre Koch Membrane Systems www.kochmembrane.com Koch Membrane Systems has launched announces its MegaPure hollow fibre product line. The range is designed for high-solids water and wastewater applications, including surface water treatment, high total organic carbon (TOC) water treatment, reverse osmosis (RO) pre-treatment, and tertiary wastewater treatment. MegaPure simplifies operation, eliminates clarifier pretreatment in many applications, minimises downtime, and reduces chemical usage. These benefits add up to a lower total cost of ownership. The MegaPure product line fills an important niche within the KMS parameters every ten minutes: Chlorophyll (green algae), Phycocyanin (blue-green algae), pH, TSS, Dissolved Oxygen and the temperature. The project showed that the ultrasound treatment needs to be adjusted according to the type of algae and other parameters in the water, to perform at its highest efficiency. As a result a database has been created which is incorporated in the system of the MPC-Buoy. family of ultrafiltration membranes with an average continuous solids tolerance of up to 250mg/l. It features an advanced cartridge design for better solids manage- ment and a reinforced hollow fibre for superior reliability. The MegaPure system features a single-potting cartridge design that allows air scouring to penetrate the fibre bundle more completely and release accumulated solids to the bottom where they drain away.
