washing line 52 | JUNE 2014 | WWT | www.wwtonline.co.uk Nuts & Bolts Sourcing products, solutions and services Aco's natural look Aco Water Management's new natural look SuDS Swale inlet is designed for drainage outfall con- nections discharging into shallow vegetated channels or SuDS fea- tures, with a low-profile to better blend into the surrounding area. Made from Aco's high-strength recycled material Vienite, the product will not discolour and the flared outlet design disperses water and reduces flow veloci- ties, reducing the risk of localised flooding. It's one-piece, flat-based design makes installation simple, and its 1 in 3 gradient profile ensures the swales are always constructed to the correct angle helping to satisfy CIRIA C697. www.aco.co.uk MCERTS certification for Endress+Hauser Endress+Hauser has achieved MCERTS certification for its CM44x analytical transmitter and associ- ated CPS11D pH electrode. The CM44x is a multi-parameter, multi-channel device also used in Endress+Hauser's MCERTS- certified range of automatic and portable samplers, providing commonality and ease of use. The CPS11D is a general pH electrode suitable for the majority of applica- tions requiring a certified device. The transmitter and electrode utilise the Memosens data trans- mission technology, which makes maintenance easier, reduces downtime and cuts whole-life cost of the measurement. www.uk.endress.com/analysis Auma showcases accessible actuation Electric actuator supplier Auma showcased its range of multi- turn, part-turn, linear and lever actuators and gearbox range at the recent IFAT exhibition. Using accessibility as a theme it promoted a range of options for manual actuator operation. Addressing the fact that some devices may be mounted in loca- tions where a handwheel may not be suitable, alternatives on stand included a handwheel extension, a chain wheel with remote switcho- ver and a variety of adaptors for power tool emergency operation. Also, new on stand was an electronic remote position transmitter (EWG) which replaces the Auma RWG. www.auma.com Plastic media range has cooling covered Hewitech's range of plastic media for use in cooling towers includes fill and dri eliminators suitable for all types of natural draught and induced draught cooling towers. For fill packs, the company offers the CF19 and the NB25 products. The CF19, comprises a module of 2400 x 310mm with a height of either 600mm or 300mm. Made from PP and PVC, the module is cross-flow welded with an open- ing of 2 x 19mm. With both blade and cellular eliminators for dri elimination. Hewitech's cellular eliminator DE125 is Eurovent, Paris certified, and is a module measuring 2400 x 600 x 125mm with an opening of 34mm. www.hewitech.co.uk Pump of many colours_80x130_2, 4c, 23. The enhanced series, comprising 43 pump sizes which can be driven by either two-pole or four-pole motors, includes additions to the selection chart. This means pump size can be selected even closer to the efficiency point. A large variety of nozzle positions and installation options enables maximum flexibility while the diversity of materials and broad choice of seal variants extends the range of applications. New features include a more service-friendly design, with the conical seal chamber allowing more space for maintenance. www.ksb.com/eta-en Talis reduces resistance with Roco The new Erhard Roco premium butterfly valve from Talis UK has a curved design and a compressed bearing and sealed part to ensure safe and reliable transportation of sensitive com- modities such as drinking water. A valve disc feature with optimised flow performance reduces the chance of pressure loss through leakage, while the curved shape reduces friction, and therefore wear, during opening and closing. The addition of a slider crank mechanism reduces the force required to actuate the valve, while resistance is further reduced by the polygonal sha - hub connection. www.talis-uk.com Airport order for PPM Manchester Airport Group (MAG) has placed a significant order with Pollution & Process Monitoring Ltd (PPM) for its Protoc TOC analysers. The order comprises five new Pro- toc 300 TOC analysers, which will measure the discharge of clean surface water into the River Bollin a er passing through a series of balancing ponds and will, when required, activate diversion. MAG made the selection based on previous performance of the analysers compared with available alternatives and because the Protoc TOC analysers measure continuously rather than intermit- tently, allowing for fast response and real-time valve control. www.pollution-ppm.co.uk Wessex chooses TT for tight job Wessex Water selected the Grundoburst 400S from TT-UK to replace sewer pipe, where tradi- tional equipment was too large and cumbersome. The Grundoburst 400S was used to burst out a 55m length of 6in pitch fibre sewer pipe, across domestic properties with no rear or side access. The pipe could therefore be replaced without the need or cost of traditional hand-dig methods. As it can be easily dismantled in to six smaller, more manageable sections, dual application is possible with either manhole or larger pit launch. Placed in position the rig is quickly and easily re-assembled and then lowered in to position by a light- weight portable li ing gantry. www.tt-uk.com
