It has built water and wastewater treatment works under turnkey and also consortium and joint-venture arrangements. This has more recently developed into successful partnerships working on significant programmes of work. In 2009 George Leslie upgraded the Invercannie water treatment works near Banchory, which is the principal water supply works for the greater Aberdeen area, for Scottish Water Solution. The modifications incorporated colour removal by chemical coagulation and filtration across micro filtration membranes, which allowed the existing ozone building plant and slow sand filters to be abandoned. The £10.3M project included new buildings for sludge presses and chemical storage, a new inlet screening system, chemical dosing for coagulation/ph correction and improvements to the existing chemical plant, flocculation mixers and removal of the existing membranes and replacement with hydrophilic membranes. "Close co-operation with Scottish Water Operations will look like. The shiŒ in focus to Totex in AMP6 is unlikely to have a significant impact on Imtech, as the company has been working with clients on developing whole life cost and sustain- able solutions for some time. Imtech is ready to embrace the Totex way of working, and this is reinforced by the Project Sustainability Action Plans it is already implement- ing for every project. The company is also already exploring the benefits of increasing the use of off-site manufacturing, which has time, resource and health personnel was essential throughout the whole project to enable the sequential commissioning of new plant and the abandonment of old equipment, whilst still maintaining continuous supplies of treated water into service," the company says. Key customers include water companies, local authorities, government bodies and private entities located in Scotland. and safety benefits that its clients are already benefiting from. Moving forward, Imtech expects one of the biggest changes it will see in AMP6/7 is the programme shiŒ towards high volume, smaller value capital maintenance and quality projects as opposed to the main new build projects that have been regular parts of previous AMP programmes. Customers include: Anglian Water, Dwˆr Cymru Welsh Water, Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, South West Water, Northumbrian Water and United Utilities.
