In July last year, the £393M acquisition of Enterprise was completed, and its integration into Amey will generate cost and revenue synergies estimated at around £40M from 2015. Ferrovial says Amey's 2013 results include a non-recur- rent positive impact of the €6.7M compensation payment received for the repair of a waste treatment plant in Cambridge, which was more than the costs incurred. Ferrovial says this positive impact in 2013 is similar to the €6.5M profit posted in 2012 derived from the agreement with the defined benefit pension funds to limit the future rights of participants. Water services are also commonly provided to customers in AMEC's other markets, including mining and oil & gas. AMEC's knowledge of regulatory environments is used to apply a risk-based approach to environmental liability assessment and management. Recent projects include: the awards in the fourth quarter included: • Maintenance of distribution networks for United Utilities (€265M, five years) and Severn Trent Water (€206M, five years) • Contracts for highway maintenance in the Cambridge area and in the County of Gloucester • Northumbrian Water, UK: framework agree- ment for the provision of technical, commercial and environmental services • McCain Foods, Canada: wastewater effluent reclaim/recycle design project • Kahramaa, Qatar: the group is supporting the local utility to use aquifer storage and recovery technology to improve water supply security. In the International division, there were two new contracts for maintenance services at the Radomiro Tomic and Gariela Mistral mines. Amey's joint venture with Black & Veatch, BBV, has the £340M deal to undertake Scottish Water's wastewater infrastructure until 2021. Both alliance partners have worked for Scottish Water for 20-plus years.
