Subscriber of the week Gordon Downie, partner, Energy & Natural Resources, Shepherd and Wedderburn "I've always loved the idea of finding the next Sutton Hoo or King Tut" What was your first job? I've been with S&W since I was a trainee, but the jobs I had as a student included street sweeping and being a waiter. What are the best and worst parts of your job? The best is definitely working on major client projects where I can get a good insight into their business and strategy. The worst has to be the dreaded time recording. What's your dream job and why? Definitely an archaeologist; I've always loved the idea of finding the next Sutton Hoo or King Tut. What's your most treasured possession? Probably my iPhone, as I'd be lost without it. Where did you last go on holiday? Long Island, New York. In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you? Someone with a nice line in irony, maybe Ed O'Neill from Modern Family. Reveal something about yourself not many people know. I am a huge rock star in Canada (well, my namesake is). What album is currently in your car CD player? I just listen to whatever mix-CD the family have made up, though I usually skip to that Pharrell Williams song Happy. What's your favourite film and TV programme? Film: Goodfellas. TV: House of Cards. What quote or saying do you most overuse? "We are where we are." If you ruled the world, what would you do first? Make spamming and nuisance calling capital offences. What's your favourite joke? A man walks into a bakery and asks "Is that a doughnut or a meringue?" The baker says, "No, you're right, it's a doughnut" (only works in a Scottish accent).
