The Pro:Dec is introduced into the process prior to fi nal dewatering. It effi ciently removes grit to protect the decanter scroll tips and fi lter cloths from attrition and wear. As well as wear reduction, grit no longer accumu- lates in process ves- sels such as digesters, ensuring energy production levels are maximised. www.cdenviro.com Hydraulic fi rm recognises solenoid supplier Eaton's Hydraulics Group (EHG) has awarded solenoids specialist, Lisk Ireland, Supplier of the Year 2013 at its conference in Geneva, Switzerland. Lisk Ireland's manag- ing director John Trully (right) and sales manager Norbert Heavey (le ) were presented with the award by Stephane Guelat, head of strategic procurement, EHG. "The Supplier of the Year award is a deserved refl ection of Lisk Ireland's faultless commitment to providing Eaton Hydraulics with tailored solutions to meet our customers' hydraulic needs," Guelat said. www.eaton.com Grundfos introduces booster range Grundfos Pumps has introduced a newly engineered range of Hydro Multi-E booster sets to the UK market. These sets come as a preassembled package on a base plate, complete with sensors, manifolds, diaphragm tank, dry-run protection, valves and fi ttings and have a built-in frequency converter on each pump. The range off ers many tangible benefi ts including increasing the speed from 2,900rpm to 3,600rpm and the introduction of energy effi cient permanent magnet motors for many models. uk.grundfos.com Sludge detector gives blanket coverage An automatic sludge blanket level detector developed by Canadian fi rm Markland Speciality Engineering helps water and wastewater treatment plants monitor primary, secondary and backwash sludge interface levels in clarifi ers (including DAF units, decanting tanks, hoppers, and upfl ow fi lter reactors) and automate sludge removal. Avail- able in the UK, it allows users to programme sludge removal pumps to operate only when neces- sary, prevent- ing carryover, optimising feed density for improved fi lter press/centrifuge/digester per- formance and bettering outfl ow for reuse. www.sludgecontrols.com Jersey sewage works contract awarded Doosan Enpure has been awarded the Bellozanne Sewage Treat- ment Works (STW) Centralised Sludge Treatment Facilities Phase 2 contract by the States of Jersey Transport & Technical Services Department. Doosan has secured the contract to design, procure, construct and commission the new sludge treatment works, which replaces the existing sludge works as part of an ongoing capital maintenance programme. The project was won on a com- petitive basis due to the small footprint solution achieved by the pasteurisation process. www.doosan.com Envitech expands ammonia monitor capacity Monitoring equipment specialist Envitech has more than doubled its fl oor space in a move to new premises in Cardiff 's Capital Business Park. Envitech is now producing the PBS ammonia monitor in Cardiff and the enhanced facilities comprise new departments for production and research & development. Envitech managing director Jim Pickering said, "This substantial change in the direction of the company gives us the resources to develop the PBS ammonia monitor by adding upgraded processing power and communication options." www.envitech.co.uk Nanocolor water analysis system features at IFAT German water analysis special- ist Macherey-Nagel says its Nanocolor system off ers fast and reliable water and waste- water analysis. The system includes high-end photom- eter and heating blocks, tube and standard tests, specialty chemicals, a wide variety of accessories, a system for analytical quality control and reliable services. Nanocolor reagents impress by easy handling and are suited for routine analysis, self-mon- itoring and process control. The system will be on display at IFAT 2014, booth 223/322, hall A5. www.mn-net.com Energy effi cient cooling in real-time Rittal's TopTherm Blue e cool- ing units provide an energy effi cient means of cooling enclosures. Incorporating the integrated eComfort controller and off ering energy savings of up to 45%, the units are compatible with Rittal's RiDiag II so ware. RiDiag II is a setup, diagnostic and data acquisition tool that can be used to view and adjust settings, log equipment data and track performance in real- time. All cooling parameters can be modifi ed and saved. The results of diagnostic checks may also be stored. www.rittal.com
