Iwex 2014| Informing on the issues that matter iwex, the UK's key forum for water and wastewater management professionals, returns to the NeC from April 1-3 bigger and better than before. we take a sneak preview at some of the major issues that visitors can expect to hear about during the three-day event. iwex will take place on April 1-3, 2014 at the NEC, Birmingham, as part of Sustainability Live with plenty to see and hear about as the water sector gets to grips with some of itøs biggest challenges. The show's organiser, WET News publisher Faversham House, has been busy working behind the scenes to ensure visitors will be able to source new innovations, discuss the latest issues and discover new business opportunities. This year, the water sector will be a major talking point at the show with the Water Bill progressing through Parliament and the industry builds up towards AMP6. This means there will be plenty of key topics discussed in the IWEX seminars. However, water issues will not be just be confined to the IWEX theatre. New for 2014 is the Keynote Stage, which will be situated at the heart of Sustainability Live. Free to attend, the Keynote Stage will discuss and debate the latest sustainability policy and practice affecting business. Water issues to be discussed during the packed three-day Keynote Stage agenda include Business Stream chief executive Mark Powles, Water UK head of policy Rob Wesley, Thames Water commercial director Piers Clark, and Ofwat director of strategy Andrew Beaver going head to head on opening up retail competition in the water sector. Opening up retail competition for commercial customers is one major change included in the government's Water Bill and the panel, chaired by Professor Martin Cave, will be debating what this will mean for the water industry.
