The plan sets out information on more than £375B of planned public and private sector investment for water, energy, transport, flood defence, waste and communications infrastructure up to 2030 and beyond. The government is also developing a new longterm plan for flood risk management infrastructure as it builds on its commitment of £2.3B capital investment for flood defences. Key projects will be named by the 2014 Autumn Statement. The latest Infrastructure Pipeline, published alongside the infrastructure plan, lists 32 programmes involving maintenance and improvements to the water supply and wastewater networks. the work is valued at nearly £15.2B, with three schemes being in the scoping phase and a further 29 active programmes in place. The Infrastructure Pipeline is the most comprehensive overview of planned and potential UK infrastructure investment ever produced. It creates certainty for investors and the supply chain, and allows government to work more effectively to ensure that the UK's Asset supplies air pipe network infrastructure needs are met. Commercial secretary to the Treasury Lord Deighton said: "The fourth National Infrastructure Plan shows that the government is delivering on infrastructure, with a long-term strategy to make sure the UK tackles decades of underinvestment and gives us the infrastructure we need to compete in the global race." Superyacht builder Pendennis started the project in order to meet an increased number of refit enquiries as well as provide facilities for larger 60m-plus vessels. The new extension will see the creation of three new marine facing sheds and workshops, as well as expanded office, workshop and crew facilities. Asset was specifically involved in providing a large network of underground pipes to service an airtight duct, designed to carry air from the plant room to vast blowers within the workshop. These giant blowers help to dry the fresh paint on the hulls of the superyachts built or refitted at the shipyard. Turnover was up slightly to £63.9M, from £61.8M in 2012. WYG said it incurred £2.2M of separately disclosed finance charges, mainly comprising share option costs, over the six months. When added in, the charges push WYG to a £447,000 operating loss. Commenting on the results, WYG chief executive Paul Hamer said the group is "confident of delivering full year results in line with recently upwardly revised market expectations". He said there was a "clear momentum" in securing new contract wins, and WYG is a diversified group with strong market positions. Hamer said: "To build on the momentum achieved thus far, we are looking at a range of opportunities to invest organically and through selective, small acquisitions both in the UK and internationally, made possible by the group's improving profit and cash position."
