PRODUCTS & SERVICES Leafield Environmental Edwards Recycling Leafield Environmental manufactures plastic litter and recycling bins, agricultural products and highways street furniture. The Wiltshire-based company has designed and custom-built a new anti-microbial, pedal operated recycling bin. The new bin, which was designed in association with strategic outsourcing and energy services company MITIE, is made with a built-in anti-microbial additive, which provides a barrier against the growth of bacteria, moulds and fungi to minimise the spread of infection. The bin can collect up to three different waste streams such as landfill waste, mixed recyclables and food or clinical waste in a compact 90-litre unit. The central lid is operated by a foot pedal. The Anti-Microbial Envirobin is currently being rolled out across the NHS Grampian and the NHS Lothian estates. Edwards Recycling has bought a new Volvo L45G wheeled loader to help it to handle waste paper arriving from Greater London, Essex and Kent at the company's materials recovery facility located at Gallions Close, Barking in Essex. The Volvo L45G has been fitted with L5 foam filled tyres, optional long boom, a hydraulic quick hitch and a 2.0m³ Viby Jern hi tip bucket featuring twin hydraulic top clams. According to Volvo Group UK, this combination gives sufficient load-over height to load out walking floor bulk trailers with a dump clearance of 4.3m. The wheeled loader also features separate power steering and load-sensing hydraulic pumps. Oil flow on the load-sensing pump automatically adjusts to match work demand, to help lower fuel consumption during lighter work. Middleton Engineering SWM Recycling has taken delivery of a new conveyor solution from Middleton Engineering to upgrade and increase capacity at its Barnstaple waste recycling operation. The new in-floor conveyor, designed, fabricated and installed within eight weeks, feeds an existing twin ram baler to process waste paper, card, film and plastics from commercial and local authority customers. Design aspects to future proof capacity for the new chain conveyor were key for SWM Recycling. Middletons provided advice on bandwidth and motor sizes, a one metre extension to the in-floor section to improve loading as well as the interface with SWM Recycling's existing Excel baler. Terex Terex has launched its new impact crusher called Finlay I-100RS. The heavy equipment manufacturer can be used in both recycling and quarrying applications. The machine features an on-board 2.44m x 1.2m single deck screen for sizing and recirculating oversize material back to the crushing chamber. The sizing screen can be quickly detached for applications that do not require resizing or recirculation of materials for further processing. The I-100RS features hydraulic folding of all conveyors providing rapid set-up times and easy point to point moves when operating on multiple sites. The machine features an advanced electronic control system that monitors and controls the speed of the rotor and regulates the heavy duty vibrating feeder (VGF) with an integrated pre-screen.
