Winner: Coco Smits, Royal Haskoning DHV
The winner of the 2013 IEMA Graduate Award boasts
experience of working on specialist projects spanning
Greenland to Greece despite only graduating from her
Bachelors in 2010.
Coco Smits, Graduate Environmental Scientist/
Consultant at Royal Haskoning DHV, was named
as the winner Of this year's IEMA Graduate of
the Year. The award was made in recognition of
her commitment to her demanding specialism
in Arctic governance and development, and her
ability to demonstrate her knowledge, work on
multiple international projects and network at a
high-level.
Through her studies at Radboud and
Wageningen Universities and internship with
Royal Haskoning DHV Coco has successfully
and enthusiastically developed her specialist
interest in the Arctic, which included two weeks
in Greenland to investigate exploitation of raw
materials.
