Operational Excellence Utility Week events calendar TOP UTILITY JOBS TOP UTILITY JOBS Flexible location (Glasgow; Hamilton; Kirkintilloch; Prenton) Salary from £44,273 per annum + fl exible benefi ts programme ScottishPower became the fi rst integrated energy company in the UK to shift completely from coal and gas generation to wind power – becoming 100% green. ScottishPower are leading the energy transition to a Net Zero company through a large investment programme. SP Energy Networks are responsible for the management of the electricity network which is undergoing a complete revolution to support this transition. A key role in this transition is the complex Real Time Control Systems that we use and manage the critical electrical network. Due to a retiral, we are able to offer this rare opportunity to join our innovative Process & Technology – Smart Grid Operations - Real Time Systems Team. In 2021, we are going to be undertaking projects to improve and enhance the services that we provide to the wider SPEN business. We will be managing our own IT infrastructure for the fi rst time, which will bring around a massive change in the way we work. We will also be combining different systems together to provide effi ciencies and allow wider skills to develop. It will also bring many opportunities to apply your technical expertise in delivering upgrades to Energy Networks' RTS Systems Application Software, Confi guration, Data, Hardware and in testing the Infrastructure. We will be doing this while maintaining these vital systems and ensuring that they are fully available and operating to the highest level of reliability. This is an offi ce based role and with offi ces in Glasgow City Centre, Kirkintilloch and Hamilton, as well as the choice of working from home (for the time being due the current COVID crisis), you can work from a site close to home or eliminate lengthy commutes to the offi ce and save that time for work or anything else that requires your time. You'll be part of a team of 19, reporting to the RTS Strategy & Projects Manager. This means that there are plenty of opportunities for upskilling and cross - skilling within the team and for you to be allocated a dedicated person to support and train you in all you need to know. We are interested in hearing from individuals who have experience working with a Control system - a GE control system would be great – along with an IT systems appreciation. However, we don't expect you to know it all. What we are looking for, most importantly, are candidates with a systems mind-set and enthusiasm to drive forward our systems to enable SPEN to deliver the transition to NetZero. We are also looking for candidates with developed negotiation and communication skills, to effectively manage customer interfaces along the way. In return, we offer a Permanent contract and a competitive salary from £44,273 per annum and you will also have access to our fl exible benefi ts programme where you can decide what is important for you. As part of our commitment to a supportive and inclusive place to work, we recognise that our employees have different personal circumstances and want a suitable work-life balance. We are working hard to support fl exible and alternative ways of working where possible including fl exible working. If you've been waiting for a SCADA role with variety, technical challenge and long term career stability, don't miss this opportunity to join our Team.
