NI Water has completed a £4 million
state-of-the-art wastewater treatment
works at the village of Maghaberry in
County Antrim, replacing the exist-
ing works. The site will now meet
the needs of the growing village
population and the expansion of the
nearby prison.
Infrastructure minister Nichola
Mallon said about 5,000 people in the
area would benefit from the new works
and that water quality in the Glen
River and River Lagan would improve.
"This highlights the far-reaching ben-

infrastructure can have," she said.
