20 | 20TH - 26TH MARCH 2020 | UTILITY WEEK High viz Yorkshire Water's project to replace roofs at Dewsbury sewage treatment works is near- ing completion. The work is part of an £18 million digester refurbishment scheme with contract partner MS2JV, which will replace roofs on two concrete digesters to give them another 20 years of asset life. The scheme, which started in 2015, also involves replacing and refurbishing support- ing assets around the digesters, including: a new combined heat and power engine for additional energy generation from the biogas generated by the digesters and new digester mixing and sludge recirculation systems. Yorkshire Water is due to start commis- sioning the digesters in May and hopes to process sludge and generate electricity by July 2020. Up on the roof Operations & Assets High viz
