Heat and light Everyone talks about the 'hydrogen economy', but Finnish energy company Wärtsilä is already investing in a green version that also mops up carbon dioxide. If UK heat pump installations rose from today's 20,000 a year to levels seen in France and Spain, they could make a major contribution to decarbonisation, says the Heat Pump Association. Hydrogen-ready boilers are much discussed, but visitors to Bosch's laboratory can already see the prototypes in action.
