18 | 22ND - 28TH NOVEMBER 2019 | UTILITY WEEK High viz The electricity system operator (ESO) at National Grid said it wants to lower transmission charges on generators to €0.50/MWh as it seeks to establish which costs are covered by an EU- imposed cap. To create a level playing field between generators in different states, the EU requires that transmission charges, excluding connection costs, be kept within the range €0-2.50/MWh. The ESO has proposed a modifica- tion to the Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC) with the aim of clarifying exactly which costs should be excluded from the limit following a modification put forward be SSE which was later rejected.
