Foreword
Welcome to WWT's latest pump and valve supplement – our regular look at the
latest best practice, innovations and products that are making an impact in the
world of pumps and valves.
This is an exciting time for the sector, as UK water companies prepare to
embark on ambitious five-year plans to deliver cost-effective, resilient and
innovative water and wastewater services. Clearly, equipment such as pumps
and valves will continue to play an important role.
The pages of this supplement highlight the types of renewable energy potential offered by pumps
(page 4), how pumps can be used to respond to leaks or flooding (see case study, p8) and the
importance of maintaining pumps properly (page 13).
There's also an interview with Lorenzo Pompa, asset optimisation engineer at Anglian Water,
who talks about the changing role of pumps and how the company is using data to get the most
out of existing assets and infrastructure. You can find this on page 10.
We also highlight the latest products on page 17. For the latest information on pumps and
valves throughout the year visit our Supplier Hub at www.wwtonline.co.uk
