18 WWT PUMP AND VALVE SUPPLEMENT 2019 Product Showcase OTHER PUMPS OTHER PUMPS Super Wispaset 80 Pump hire specialist, Sykes Pumps, has introduced the Super Wispaset 80 eco to its range of super silenced pumps. The compact new pump adds to the company's range of super silenced pump solutions. The range enables users to reduce the impact of noise pollution without compromising on performance and is backed by the company's national depot network, and 24/7 call out capabilities. Ideally suited to a range of applications including construction, utilities, civil engineering, marine and quarries, docks, ports, harbours, off shore, wastewater treatments, power stations, tunnelling, manufacture and industry and mines and quarries, the new Super Wispaset 80 eco pump is housed in an acoustic canopy and operates at a low noise level of just 64 dBA @7m. Ebara GSO Ebara Corp has launched the GSO model horizontal end suction volute process pump, with applications ranging from freshwater to chemi- cal solutions. The new GSO model, which is Ebara's fi rst ISO 5199 certifi ed product, joins the company's exist- ing GS and GSS models. The GSO's newly developed impel- ler achieves a high-effi ciency operation, while the pump's hard structure makes the product more durable. Ebara says that the new model, which also complies with ISO 2858, has a reduced product cost and delivery time and saves on maintenance costs. Initially aimed at the China and Southeast Asia markets, the GS series will later be developed as key global products. Amacontrol III The KSB Group's Amacontrol III module off ers protection and monitoring for pumps and submersible mixers in water and wastewater ap- plications. The Amacontrol III device monitors the phase sequence and detects any phase failures, overvoltage/ undervoltage or voltage asymmetry that may occur. It can also monitor temperature sensors, two conductance sensors for leakage monitor- ing and a 4-20 mA signal. Additional functions include logging the frequency of starts, recording the num- ber of operating hours and detecting any failures of con- nected sensors. A fault relay and warning relay ensure the units are reliably stopped or, respectively, a warning is emitted. Alfa Laval Optilobe Alfa Laval OptiLobe rotary lobe pumps are designed to be cost-eff ective, reliable and versatile alternatives for general applications requiring gentle product treatment and easy serviceability. To meet the requirements of lower fl ow rates and higher produc- tion capacities, the addition of the Alfa Laval OptiLobe 10 and OptiLobe 50 adds four new pump sizes to the prod- uct range. These new pumps will also provide the possibility of having heating/cooling front covers for processes, where products tend to harden at low temperatures. OptiLobe's high precision rotors and low-shear opera- tion ensure gentle handling of delicate products. With full cleanability, the OptiLobe also complies with the world's leading hygienic standards. KM Series Magnetically coupled centrifugal pumps, are by design, one of the safest and most reliable options and the DICKOW KM Series of pumps is an example of a safe, reli- able and competitively priced pump for these types of ap- plications. Available from pumping specialists Michael Smith Engineers, the KM Series is a range of sealless, single- stage, volute casing pumps with a maximum fl ow rate of 70m³/hr maximum diff er- ential heads to 65 metres and maximum operating temperature up to 200ºC. A key benefi t of the mag- netic coupling design is that it results in a sealless pump and because mechanical seal failure is sometimes regarded as the 'Achilles heel' of other types of pump, these poten- tial problems are eliminated.
