Together with 36 wells within Harrogate's Valley Gardens, the Grade II Listed Yorkshire Water structure was lit with light sha s to complete a 3D art installation, which could be seen in the night sky for miles around. Called Harrogate 1571 and delivered by Harrogate International Festivals, the work was commissioned by Harrogate Borough Council as part of a wrap- around cultural programme for the UCI World Cycling Championships. EA sets 2030 net zero emissions aim The Environment Agency has set itself the aim of becoming a net zero organisation by 2030. Meeting this goal, which is based on the internationally-recognised Science Based Target Initiative methodology, would see the Environment Agency go beyond what was set out in the Paris Climate Change Agreement. It will seek to meet the goal by reducing the emissions of its own activities and supply chain by 45%, with the remaining emissions addressed through tree planting or other measures. Ofwat sets out strategy to transform sector's performance Ofwat has published a new strategy to help transform water company performance, meet long-term challenges and embed public purpose into the sector. Developed a er a year of listening, during which time Ofwat spoke face-to-face with more than 250 different organisations and members of the public, the strategy focuses on how Ofwat can help deliver the things that matter most to people. As part of the strategy, Ofwat has set three strategic goals: 1. To transform water companies' performance for customers, 2. To drive water companies to meet long-term challenges through increased collaboration and partnerships, and 3. For water companies to serve a wider public purpose, delivering more for customers, society and the environment. Scottish Water calls for greater water efficiency Scottish Water has called on more people to reduce their daily water usage a er confirming that around 80 million litres of water have been saved across Scotland in the past year.
