The Noor Abu Dhabi plant cost nearly $900 million to build and comprises 3.2 million solar panels. It covers 8km sq and has a peak capac- ity of 1.2GW, which is enough to power around 90,000 homes in the country. The plant is owned by the Emirates Water and Electricity Company and was built by a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Power and a consortium of Japan's Marubeni Corp and China's Jinko Solar Holding.
