4 Water Industry Awards put spotlight on achievement More than 550 professionals from water companies, regulators, contractors and suppliers attended the celebratory evening at The Hilton Metropole, Birmingham, to applaud the achievements of the award winners and finalists at the Water Industry Awards, organised by Water & Wastewater Treatment. Held on the evening of May 20th, the black-tie dinner and awards ceremony was hosted by comedian Scott Bennett, and attended by the most important figures in the UK water industry. There was pre-awards entertainment from Photon Glow Show while after dinner there was the return of the fun casino raising money for WaterAid's work to secure safe water supplies and sanitation for the developing world. Anglian Water took home the prestigious Water Company of the Year award, while nmcn was once again named Water Industry Contractor of the Year. Northumbrian Water gained a double win in the Customer Service Initiative of the Year and Data Project of the Year categories, while Morrison Utility Services was another company with double reason to celebrate, being rewarded for both the best Alliancing and Partnership Initiative and Data & Software Solution.
