Whitelee Wind Farm, one of the big-
gest onshore wind farms in Europe, is
ten years old this month.
Located on Eaglesham Moor, 15km
from Glasgow, Scotland, and it was
commissioned in May 2009 with 140
turbines generating 322MW, sufficient
to power 200,000 homes.
The wind farm is owned by Scot-
tish Power Renewables, a subsidiary
of Iberdrola, one of the world's largest
developers of renewable energy.

announced two expansions at the
wind farm in 2009, a few months a‰er
it was commissioned. Construction
works on the expansion began in
November 2010 and were completed
by August 2012. The expansion was
