MWH Treatment returns to UK water sector MWH TREATMENT Soapworks Colgate Lane Salford M5 3LZ Tel: 01706 367 555 www.mwhconstructors.com THE LEADERS 2019 The MWH Treatment (MWHT) brand has made its return to the UK water industry aer more than two years as part of Stantec, which sold its construction division last year. Headquartered in Salford, with five additional regionally located teams across the UK, MWHT currently holds six framework contracts in the water sector, including the @one Alliance for Anglian Water, Advance for United Utilities, ESD for Scottish Water, CMDP for Southern Water and SMB for Thames Water. The company is also celebrating being awarded two of the first re-bid contracts for AMP7, having recently won Severn Trent's framework for water and wastewater treatment design-and-build and design- only projects. The agreement extends a 20-year relationship and MWHT will receive a share of the £2 billion capital works programme, providing work for up to eight years. MWHT – which has been shortlisted in three 2019 Water Industry Awards categories – has made digital a core focus since AMP5. Its Digital Delivery Toolbox, which is designed to cover the entirety of projects from initial planning to asset management, helped the company secure multiple awards in 2018. "AMP7 provides a great opportunity for us to continue to maximise efficiencies through innovation and digital delivery, whilst continuing to identify and implement resilient solutions that will help utilities meet their regulatory challenges," Paul Bresnan, MWH Treatment's managing director, tells The Leaders 2019. Its accounts for the year ending 31 December 2017, filed under Stantec Treatment, showed a loss, which it attributed to problems in the waste and energy sector, despite a 19 per cent increase in revenue. The company added that in 2017 it had "continued to build on its reputation within the water sector, returning positive results that exceeded forecasts".
