The 1.4MW solar installation cov- ers 1.46 hectares – about the size of two football pitches – and is sited on the manufacturing facility of plastics maker Retal. The energy produced by the pan- els has helped Lithuania to meet the EU's 2020 renewable energy target (for member states to source 20 percent of all their energy requirements from renewable sources) one year early.
