RAF Marham in Norfolk is set to
become the greenest military base
in the UK with 95 per cent of its
electricity needs met by a newly built
anaerobic digestion plant.
The plant, Redstow Renewables,
was built and run by Future Biogas
under a power purchase agreement
signed with Marham. The finance was
provided by Downing. The 4.5MW
Redstow plant is forecast to save
14,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year
and reduce Marham's energy bill by
£300,000.
